Alpha Theta's Sara Wagner was named Homecoming Queen during a Wednesday night pep rally on campus.  Sara is a communications major from Indianapolis who is the chapter's Historian, BMOC Co-Chair and Membership Assistant.  She is also involved in College Mentors for Kids, Dance2XS, Cheer and Stunt Club, Greek Promotions Team, and is an intern at UIFI.

The Purdue King and Queen are selected through a pretty intense application and interview process.  Applicants must file a petition to be considered, write an essay, and submit their resume.  Interviews are conducted by  a panel of campus and community leaders.  For Sara, the process started last spring and applications were due in March.

Congratulations to Sara for her dedicated hard work throughout the process and best wishes for an enjoyable reign!

In addition, ZTA had a tent in Tent Town where alumnae and collegiate members could reconnect and share stories and sisterhood during this special time together.  This was a favored hangout as sisters of all ages demonstrated that Zeta IS forever.

The spirit at Beta Theta chapter at Franklin College is nothing to shake a stick at, either.  Franklin Zetas were awarded the Homecoming Spirit Stick for their demonstration of pep at the annual pep session and privy burning.  (Yes....the Grizzlies burn an outhouse.  If you really want to know the story, let me know.  I'll blog it.)

Of course, with a burn ban in place for Johnson County, no privy was actually burned this year.  Fear not, traditionalists!  A few years ago the campus added a "mini-privy" decoration contest.  Take a look at the ZTA entry...which is a little scary in its resemblance to the suite exterior.

Congratulations to our winning chapters and best wishes to those whose Homecomings are still ahead!

Zeta collegians and alumnae from central Indiana helped turn Lucas Oil Stadium pink this weekend.  Women from Indianapolis Alumnae, Indiana State University, Franklin College, and IUPUI gathered at the home of the Colts to place pink signs on each seat of the stadium.  Prior to kickoff, fans stood and cheered while holding the signs, turning the sizable arena pink in support of breast cancer awareness.

Thank you, sisters, for giving of your time to make a huge impact!

IU BMOC is Crowning Achievement in Philanthropy

Our sisters at Indiana University lead the way in philanthropy efforts, and this year is no different.  Friday evening's Big Man on Campus competition engaged full-campus support and raised over $179,000 for the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation's efforts.

Heartfelt congratulations to the Indiana University Zetas!

And Then There Were Six!

Picture
Indiana welcomed its first colony in a generation on Sunday.  After a whirlwind weekend led by the ZTA Extension Team and three great TLCs, the colony at Indiana University - Purdue Univeristy Indianapolis became a reality early Sunday afternoon.  After an "Experience Zeta" event on Friday and a "Think Pink - Think Zeta" philanthropy event on Saturday, invitees to Sunday's Preference event viewed a brief Preference ceremony and were offered the opportunities to become Zeta Tau Alphas.

Special thanks to the Mrs. Conrad and the Extension Team, Director of New Chapters Kimberly Zambito, District President Bryn Masiuk, Indianapolis Alumnae, Alpha Theta, Alpha Xi, and Gamma Chi for your outstanding contributions to the strong start of this chapter.

Check out the Province Photo Blog for pictures from the colonization!

Franklin College ZTA Chapter Welcomes 22

Picture
Beta Theta at Franklin College capped off an outstanding recruitment week with the bidding of 22 fabulous new members!  With a Bid Day country theme, "Are You Down With the Crown?", the chapter serenaded fraternities, shared a down home lunch with local alumnae, and experienced their first moments of ZTA sisterhood with their newest.

Check out the Province Photo Blog for a few pictures from the Province President's visit to round 3.
